ABOUT

My name is Fisher, and I am a 2D mixed-media artist. When it comes to creating art, my unique process involves combining the bold line work of art pens, with the shading and definition of Watercolor or ink. Recently, I have been expanding my horizons as an artist by participating in local student art exhibitions in the Tidewater area, and by submitting my artwork to 340 High Street: a student art-book compilation.

While creating personal work, I love to tackle energetic concepts such as exploration and adventure. To me, these genres can help me as an artist easily portray a “silent story” to the viewer: where text and dialogue are not needed for people to understand the context of the artwork.

For my inspiration when creating personal artwork, I tend to revere the art of Rembrandt Van Rijn with his pencil and charcoal art. Another artist that I am partially influenced by is Edward Hopper, specifically his pieces Nighthawks (1942) and Chop Suey (1929) which both portray people living day to day in urban environments with a solitary sub-
theme.
